![]() ![]() Perhaps the best part to the bundle itself though is the hour and a half cinematic cut scenes compiled into a small movie revolving around the storyline in 358/2 Days. There is no question that the games have never looked better than they do in this remastered edition, and that’s clearly the facet of the game they are trying to illuminate with the addition of a limited edition art book to accompany the game upon release. ![]() The only aspect to the entire package I felt was spectacular was the updated graphics that are now in line with the traditional Square Enix art style. It was a game that established a slight change in controls, and although repetitive and less of a bore to play through than Re: Chain of Memories, it was still just a disappointment. When you run through Final Mix, the little bit of excitement you had going into the game is there because of the fact that this is the first time a North American and European audience has access to the game. If there isn’t a hook that sways you to stay after the first hour, you’re probably not going to go back. Gaming, like television, is an emotional investment consisting of hours upon hours of play. ![]() ![]() When you’re a fan of a series, whether it be gaming or television, you’re looking for a new aspect to cling to, something that differentiates it from its predecessor. Readers should note there isn't much new content as the three games enclosed in the bundle are updated versions of already released games.Īnd for this reason, the game isn’t worth its $40 price.Īs a Kingdom Hearts fan, I was more than disappointed to run through the various games I was provided with, only to find out one wasn’t even playable, and the other two were just better looking versions of games I had played in the past. In Kingdom Hearts 1.5, however, fans of the series are treated with the first Western release of Kingdom Hearts: The Final Mix, an updated version of Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories, and a cinematic telling of the recent DS title, Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days. Like previous games, players primarily control Sora, the main spiky haired protagonist of the series, and venture off to locate their party of missing misfit members Riku and Kairi. Kingdom Hearts 1.5 is the latest in the popular Japanese role playing game series from Square Enix that mashes up characters from the Final Fantasy and Disney universes, and it demonstrates the studio’s understanding of their core demographic, sticking to past attributes that consistently work. Unfortunately, the revamp of the original title brings virtually nothing new or fresh to this aging series. Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix is full of beautifully animated worlds and nostalgic throwbacks to classic Disney movies. ![]()
